The end is just the beginning.

Sometimes the end is just the beginning. When it comes to the Lego Church Project this is a very true statement. When The Project comes home from the final display. I begin the process of taking the church down brick by brick. Often taking me more than a few days and a lot of hours.

Part of the reason for this is because gravity takes over and can put extra stress on the bricks. Given the nature of this build, parts do wear out, and require replacements at times. So I need to inspect things as I take The Project down and see where I’m at.

I also get to look back on what I’ve done for the past year and reflect/pray on how I can do things better. Not just with the builds but with myself as well. We carry a lot of internal garbage. Things that we often regret we have done. Mistakes that we make due to errors in our own judgement. It is a time to pray on how we can be better. To remove the negative stuff and focus on what God wants us to do in this life.

In our walk with Christ we are constantly building and rebuilding our faith. My work in that respect is a solid reflection of this. I am building and rebuilding my work every year. Taking much needed time to pray and reflect over all the things that go on with my life.

Which leads to the beginning. Because with in a few weeks of taking the one season down. I begin the build for the next season. A brand new canvas to share the story of parish life. To spend my time praying at the bricks. It is a time of both fear and excitement as I start a new season. For I have no idea where the Lord will lead me.

The tear down is a bitter sweet moment for me. It is an ending. The closing of one chapter. To reflect and pray as I head into the next one. Soon I will be hard at work once again. Building and Praying At The Bricks. -
