I very much recommend taking a half hour of your time to watch Ralph Martin's video. He walks the timeline from when Pope Francis first exclaimed the, now infamous words, "Who am I to judge?" At that time my ears perked up. Still I defended Francis. Little did I know what he really meant.
Mr. Martin has all the evidence that supports his conclusions, while also sharing bits of information regarding Francis's appointments.
Since his words are superior to mine, I will let you be the judge. Sinod or synod?
Mr. Martin also authored a book that is an excellent resource describing the Holy Mother Church today. "A Church in Crisis: Pathways Forward" was published in October, 2020. I highly recommend reading it.
