This will be a little bit different than my usual posts and reflections. This started off as an idea over on Twitter and it has gotten me to think about some of the things I pray for as I'm building "The Project."
I pray that people would return and make the Mass a priority once again. The Mass should be one of the most important aspects of what we take part in. While daily Mass is not always practical due to life. Taking part in Mass on Sunday (or Saturday) should be critical in our lives. Here we give total focus to Christ and we should make Him top priority in our lives.
I pray that more people in the parishes would take a more active role in the life of the church. Parishes rise and fall on the help of the members who take part. With in each parish needs exist for volunteers. Many ministries could always use a helping hand. If we want our parishes to thrive then we must step up to the plate to help.
I pray that the needs of the poor, the elderly, and those with disabilities would be met in the church. That more considerations would be given. The reality is that many people fall though the cracks in the system. The church can do more to make sure those in need are taken care of.
Lastly, I pray that more men would answer God's call for the priesthood. This is something that has been on my heart for a while as I see good shepherds struggle because the needs are great, but the help is almost non existent.
My work is an ongoing prayer. With every brick I place. Every display I do. All of it has prayer at the foundation. This is just a small look into what those prayers are about.
May The Holy Spirit guide me always. -
