Divergence

The propulsion to consolidate the liturgy by suppressing TLM is destroying the faith for many. This is sad, isolating the Novus Ordo as the sole acceptable form of worship for God when the pre-V2 mass seems to foster greater zeal and respect than the new rite. A friend told me yesterday that his mother used to pray daily for the salvation of Hugh Hefner, which caught me by surprise, but of course her choice was a lovely thing pleasing to God. It seems we must pray for the pope daily, because he will have to make an accounting to God for his "mass suppression."

That is a difficult thing to keep in mind but I agree is so necessary. The praying for souls who are manevolent, angry, hurtful, argumentative for the sake of it, etc. There was a woman in my life that I was helpless to extricate myself from who caused me great stress, anxiety and sometimes grief. I used to rail against her and the issues she caused in my life. Mostly because I was looking for a solution to my problem but also because I was hurt and felt alienated until one day I was given the advice to pray for her. I thought that's absurd! Why would I want someone who is hurting me (seemingly intentionally) to get favors. Then it occurred to me that she may need the graces more than I did and isn't that what Jesus wants me to do anyway? To love my enemy?

I found myself chanting "ohm" with these videos. Now wait! Are those lotto tickets falling from the sky? Isn't that God's way of blessing their insolence?

Just kidding. This disfigurement of liturgy is a horrible disgrace. It reminds me of the occasion that Jesus says in the gospel of Mark (7:7), "they worship me in vain."
