After completing my first Marian Consecration last year, I have been compelled to kneel and receive Holy Communion on the tongue. Thankfully, I am blessed with a priest who encourages it.
When visiting other churches and not confident that it will be allowed, I always bow, hold my hand like a throne (left hand under the right in the shape of a cross), and consume from my palms without ever touching with my fingers. Still, it feels very wrong.
The link below gives an excellent talk on the truth behind this change in practice. Would love to your thoughts?
I started attending the Dominican Latin Mass at our church last year and go to the SSPX once a month (they only come up to AK once a month...I'm ever so grateful for it too!) I can never go back to the N.O. Everyone receives kneeling & on the tongue.
I completely agree Christina, I was initially afraid to kneel and receive on my tongue, worried what people would say or think. Now I that is the only way I receive. It saddens and pains me when I see people not receiving reverently. I don't blame the people, most are just completely ignorant of who it is they are receiving.
